ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Established in 1964, the Department of Electronic Engineering at Dawood University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Karachi (formerly Dawood College of Engineering & Technology) is the pioneer department of Electronic Engineering in Pakistan. With over six decades of academic excellence, the department has built a distinguished reputation for producing highly skilled engineers, researchers, and innovators who contribute to industry, academia, and technological advancement both nationally and internationally.
The department provides a dynamic academic environment supported by highly qualified faculty, modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and strong industry partnerships. Its outcome-based curriculum combines a strong theoretical foundation with practical training, innovation, professional ethics, effective communication, and teamwork to prepare graduates for addressing complex engineering challenges. Through industry-oriented projects, research activities, and hands-on laboratory experience, students develop expertise in emerging fields such as embedded systems, communication engineering, robotics, industrial automation, signal processing, biomedical engineering, and Edge AI. As a result, the department's graduates are well recognized for their technical competence and leadership, holding prominent positions in leading national and multinational organizations, while many also pursue advanced studies and successful careers in academia and research.
The department offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs designed to devel op future engineers, researchers, and technology leaders. In 2025, the department proudly graduated its first PhD scholars in Electronic Engineering, marking another significant milestone in its academic journey.
